inbody testBody Composition
Your weight is made up of muscle, fat, and water. The key to effective weight loss is losing excess body fat, not overall body weight. Weight loss is not the same as fat loss. Instead of tracking your weight, use body composition analysis to assess your health.
Body composition analysis refers to measuring your body composition, generally known as your body muscle, fat, and water.
Instead of focusing on a single number on your scale, body composition analysis allows you to focus on losing body fat and gaining muscle while retaining the proper amount of body water in specific areas of your body. Body composition analysis is the key to tracking and maintaining effective weight loss. Lose weight smarter, healthier, and happier like never before.

DOn'tCosmetic implants: May skew fat mass/PBF results
Low carb/Keto diet: May skew fat mass/PBF results
Metal implants: May skew fat free mass results
Any skewed results will be consistent from test to test, so we recommend using your initial test as a baseline for tracking your body composition over time.noteSpecial Cases
Although InBody devices provide accurate and precise results for the majority of users, certain physical circumstances may skew body composition test results. We recommend that users with certain health conditions avoid testing:
-
The currents utilized for testing by InBody devices have not been shown to have any risk factors for pregnant users. However, it is not recommended that users test during pregnancy. This is due to changes in body fluids, which may cause body composition results to differ from a user’s “normal” baseline.
-
(without prior approval from a physican)
-
Amputees/individuals who are unable to stand
-
Because metal is highly conductive, metal implants cause increased lean mass readings in the area in which the metal is located. The degree of this skew can vary, depending on the size and composition of the implant itself. However, because this effect will be consistent from test to test, the initial test may be used as a baseline to track changes in a user’s body composition over time.
